3. Biohazard prevention
In France, Law No. 92-654 of July 13, 1992 requires prior ministerial authorization for any manipulation of GMOs. This authorization, known as agrément, is issued following a specific procedure depending on the nature of the request and the classification of the GMO. It is accompanied by containment measures to prevent any accidental release of the GMO.
