ABSTRACT
This paper is the second in a series of three devoted to the study of mechanical amplifier design. First it gives an inventory of all possible mechanisms, in each case establishing formulas for calculating the gain. The choice of the most suitable mechanism is based on several criteria: existence of dead points, closed kinematic chain, adjustable clearance, and power dissipated by friction. Joints play a major role in amplifier conception. A special section is thus devoted to their study, especially the alternatives to conventional revolute joints that have been developed in recent decades. Finally, a section deals with high-gain amplifiers.

INTRODUCTION
In this second article we will try to identify general rules based mainly on kinematics and dynamics and intended to guide the choice of solutions. We wish to realize a mechanism where an output variable ψ is a function of an input variable φ. It is therefore a one-degree-of-freedom system. In this phase of the study we will consider that the system is made up of undeformable solids.
Nota
A fundamental requirement is that the power developed by the linking actions should be as low as possible, or that the overall efficiency should be as high as possible.
