Recall the normalized values of the sampling frequencies determined previously:

• for Y luminance: 13.5 MHz ;

• for each color component C _R and C _B : 6.75 MHz.

Sampling cannot be carried out under good conditions without filtering adapted to the desired application. It is therefore necessary to know the filters that will precede it. Recommendation ITU-R BT.601-5 gives the characteristics of luminance and chrominance signal filters.
