1.1 Definition of availability

The availability of a system or network, as described in the documents [1][2] or [3] , corresponds to "the probability that the system will function at time t". In simple terms, availability is the proportion of time the system works (correctly). It is the ratio of the time during which the system works to the time of the interval considered.

An example of availability is 100/168 if the system can be used 100 hours...
