Using a single PCE in a network is operationally dangerous. If the PCE becomes inaccessible, the centralized path calculation function will no longer be available.

It is important to note that the PCC is able to regain control of the LSPs managed by the PCE in the event of loss of connectivity with the PCE (PCEP session out of service), including LSPs created by the PCE.

In this case, the PCC is capable of calculating a path for these LSPs, but due to its limited view compared to the PCE (distributed vs. centralized model), it is highly unlikely that it will be able to determine paths.
