Radar Interferometry

Interferogram; interferogramme

An interferogram (neologism) is an image of the phase difference between two or more radar images, from which systematic or predictable effects related to trajectories, topography or even geodetic distortion have been more or less subtracted. In these cases, we can speak of a differential interferogram, but the addition of this adjective is not very rigorous.

Speckle; speckle

Speckle characterizes the behavior of extended radar targets. A homogeneous landscape (forest, field...) does not give a homogeneous image to the nearest noise, as in optics, but a random signal whose characteristics (mean, standard deviation...) are homogeneous.
