3. EN 50128 standard
The CENELEC EN 50128 standard applies to both safety-related and non-safety-related areas – This is why the EN 50128 standard introduces SSIL0, which relates to software applications with no safety requirements – and exclusively to software and the interaction of the software application with the system as a whole.
This standard recommends the implementation of a "V" cycle from specification to software testing. One of the particular points of the CENELEC EN 50128 standard is the need to demonstrate the implementation of means. This is why it is said to be a "means" standard, unlike aeronautical standards, which are "objectives" standards.
