Railway traction - ERTMS signaling system

Based on the experience of a pre-series base run in 2000-2002, it was decided to divide the validation of the ERTMS system into four phases:

• a platform and simulator phase (figure 13);

• a phase with a test train, but on a site limited in length and speed (figure 14);

• a phase with the test train on a 40 km site at a maximum speed of 160 km/h, with the possibility of simulating trains running ahead of the test train;

• a phase on the actual LGV site.

The test platform with its equipment, edges, floors and environmental simulators was included in the tender specifications and basic contract supplies from the outset.
