First of all, we need to remind you what dependability is.
Definition 1 (dependability). – Dependability is defined as the quality of the service delivered by a system, such that users of this service can place justified confidence in the system delivering it.
We use definition 1 here, but it should be noted that there are more technical approaches to dependability. For information on the IEC/IEC 1069 standard, dependability is the measure by which it can be shown that a system exclusively and correctly performs the task(s) assigned to it.
