10.  Probabilistic Geometry

The seventeenth general mathematical framework is that of geometric probability, which historically emerged in the 17th century and dealt with the application of probability theory to geometric problems rather than numerical ones. Since the late 20th century, geometric probability has evolved into two distinct branches with different focuses: integral geometry and stochastic geometry.
