2. Example of a production engineering application

2.1 First model: continuous (convex) optimization problem

A set of three tasks T 1, T 2, T 3 is to be completed in minimum time. Tasks T 2 and T 3 can be executed simultaneously, but can only be started once task T 1 has been completed.
