3. Sequences of points and subsets

3.1 Point sequences

In a metric space, (countable) sequences of points are sufficient to characterize its topological properties. Generalized sequences of points are therefore not useful.

In metric spaces, sequences of points are treated in much the same way as in Euclidean spaces (p. 3 of ).
