2. Some problems in multidimensional signal processing

Here are a few examples of problems where the Fourier transform plays an important role, both practically and theoretically, as computing power makes it possible to process signals in three-dimensional spaces. First we look at the possibilities offered in the field of wave propagation, then image reconstruction in tomography and nuclear magnetic resonance, then applications in interferometry and finally pre-processing in contour detection in image analysis.
