7. Conclusions and outlook
We have seen, through the examples presented, that soap films in their final stage after drainage are highly organized and well-defined systems. Since the first studies on the macroscopic properties of films, new aspects of these systems have been discovered: their strong potential for self-organization, which truly enables the construction of molecular assemblies with a wide variety of properties and shapes. In the coming years, we hope to use black films to condense nanoparticles of very diverse nature, shape, and size into very thin layers. We now have mastered their deposition on solid substrates and know how to manipulate them quite easily. The nature of the substrates, as well as their shape, should allow for numerous applications of this method. Although we have not yet fully mastered our films and the films produced are not yet flawless, the prospects are nevertheless very promising....
