4. Plasma ion microfield broadening

4.1 General

The main contribution to the broadening of the lines emitted by a hydrogen plasma comes from Stark broadening in the field of electrons and ions. For a hydrogen plasma, this is linear Stark broadening; disruptive particles with charges Ze produce an electric field: E=ZeR2.
