1.1 Solid reactivity

Solid reactivity is the science of phase transformations that more or less completely alter the nature and properties of materials as a result of the intervention of an external agent.

This discipline concerns almost all industrial activities. In fact, many industries are based entirely on this type of transformation. This is true of some very old ones, such as metallurgy, which transforms natural materials (oxides, sulfides, etc.) into metals. It's also the case for cutting-edge industries that formulate high-temperature superconducting materials, for example, by seeking out new solid phases through the mixing and reaction of oxides.
