4. Conclusion

This article has shown just how complex the problem of motivation is within a company. But this complexity is no reason for managers to give up. As long as managers are willing to take action with a systems approach, they are not without the means to act on people and teams. They can intervene, either separately or in combination, on :

• Work organization, to multiply actions and set objectives tailored to each individual.

• Training and qualification, to develop employees' skills and increase their internality.

• Communication and information, to help internal culture and values gradually evolve (changing what is desirable within the company!).
