4. Conclusion

This article contributes to the discussion on how to support the eco-ideation phase in order to generate eco-innovative concepts. The concept of eco-ideation mesomechanisms is expressed through a multidimensional, original, and operational set of seven MSEs, inspired by recognized approaches from scientific literature.

MSEs focused on innovation through sustainable consumption patterns and circularity, illustrated in detail by the example of a bike-sharing service, exemplify this approach in both substance and form.

This will be supplemented by a description of the methodological approach enabling:

  • to present an illustrative case for all MSEs, following the example of this use of MSEs in a bike-sharing project;
