4. Conclusion

Integrating sustainable development issues into an organization's strategy is a source of complexity, due to the multiplicity of these issues (environmental, social/societal, economic) and the stakeholders involved. To meet this challenge, it is necessary to call on a variety of skills, and so organizations of different kinds (companies, local authorities, research laboratories, citizens, consumers, users, etc.) are brought together to collaborate on innovative projects.

Traditional management tools designed to manage resources internal to a given company are not adapted to the management of these complex innovative projects, which lie at the interface of several organizations. Companies wishing to embark on technological innovations of this kind must first innovate in their organization and in their relations with their stakeholders.
