IP address

Unique identification number assigned to each device connected to the same computer network using the Internet Protocol.

Domain Name System (DNS)

Global Internet directory that allows IP addresses to be matched to URLs.

Uniform Resource Locator; Uniform Resource Locator (URL)

A unique, hierarchical identifier for a website on the Internet, commonly referred to as a web address. It appears in the address bar of a browser or on the right-hand side of an email address (to the right of the @ symbol).
