5.1 Glues

Solvent-free adhesives and their application machines have made enormous strides, both in terms of application speed and adhesion control performance.

The latest formulations are satisfactory even when sterilized in a steam autoclave, for both thermoformed and non-thermoformed complexes.

With zero emissions, lower cost and lower grammage, solvent-free adhesives now account for three quarters of processed volumes (in m 2 ).

The qualities that make solvent-based adhesives indispensable in some recent applications are :

  • better resistance to chemicals and aromas ;
