3.1 Origins and applications

The Abaque principle was devised by François Régnier as early as 1973, and has since been patented. At the time, François Régnier realized that certain high value-added ideas were not coming out of traditional brainstorming sessions. He realized that group work is not as effective as it should be, because it's always the same people who talk and the same people who don't: shyness, fear of hierarchy, fear of making mistakes....
