The requirements and criteria formulated therein are currently applied in all industrial sectors, particularly in the Anglo-Saxon world where they are used to define reliability-based maintenance procedures outside the automotive industry sector. Inspired largely by John Moubray's RCM2™ method, the RCM-N&H conformity assessment is based on a set of seven questions concerning functions, functional failures, failure modes and their consequences, maintenance tasks and their periodicity. The answers obtained are used to fill in an FMEA table, on the one hand, and to draw up another table detailing maintenance tasks and their intervals, based on decision trees, on the other.
