5. Conclusion

The ever-expanding variety of adhesives created and offered to the economic and industrial market reinforces the idea of continued growth, particularly for innovative and sustainable products. New formulations will have to respond to rapidly evolving societal needs, taking into account the ever-present environmental awareness and the arrival of new forms of protective technology for human beings.

After assessment of chemical risks, for example, particularly in the case of solvent-based adhesives or adhesives containing substances harmful to health, end products classified as hazardous must be disposed of. Some of these are already being replaced, and others are gradually being replaced by compounds with a less pronounced profile, as requested by INRS.
