Aging is defined as a slow and irreversible evolution (under conditions of use) of one or more material properties, resulting from changes in its structure, morphology or composition.
We call "slow" any phenomenon that cannot be understood on a time scale compatible with 1 technical and economic constraints, and therefore requires the use of accelerated ageing tests and a model to extrapolate their results.
