3. Flow modeling

The literature contains a number of flow models for counter-rotating twin-screw extruders. Naturally, these models differ according to the type of machine and whether the focus is on a local description of the flow or on the process as a whole. From a historical point of view, it was interpenetrating configurations with wide threads that were first studied, due to their widespread use in the case of PVC. So we'll start with these.
