4. Formulations

In most cases, natural rubber is used to formulate [AM 8 010] . In fact, to obtain a resistant rubber article, certain additives are necessary. Additives change the basic properties of polymers, depending on the type and quantity used.

For natural rubbers, these are :

• vulcanizing agents;

• anti-aging and anti-ozone agents;

• expenses ;

• plasticizers ;

• other agents.
