5. Conclusion

Overmolding is a process similar to conventional molding, but which can be used to create more complex parts or parts specific to applications such as MID.

It also makes it possible to combine materials and apply related technologies such as metallization to produce highly technical parts that are often impossible to manufacture in any other simple way.

However, this important technology does not automatically reduce costs, as they depend on the entire production chain and therefore on the complexity of the application. On the other hand, it is a good alternative for complex parts that cannot be manufactured by other methods.

The economic aspect is very important, so a technical and financial study will enable us to choose the most appropriate technology for the case in question.
