3. Properties of painted parts

Various properties must be preserved after painting, and new ones added. First and foremost, the paint must adhere to the surface of the polymer part. Painted polymer parts must retain their functional properties (dimensional, mechanical properties). The paint must adhere over time. It must provide optical properties of color and gloss identical to those of other materials, such as metal.

3.1 Paint adhesion

Adhesion is the measurement of a parameter (force, stress, etc.) during a test. . Industrially, the tests correspond as closely as possible to the working properties of the painted parts.
