2. Cross-linking of polymers by ionizing radiation

2.1 Crosslinkable polymers and crosslinking coagents

Polymer crosslinking under ionizing radiation concerns thermoplastics as well as elastomers and thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs). Table lists common polymers that can be cross-linked under ionizing radiation. Some can be cross-linked as they are, while others can only be cross-linked in the presence of a co-cross-linking agent (e.g. polyamides), or if their chemical structure has been slightly modified (e.g. with more unsaturation).
