More than a century after the great advent of polymers, we've come a long way! The third millennium is no longer conceivable without fully integrating polymers into everyday life, while respecting environmental constraints, with solutions for recycling end-of-life products.

Vigorous international economic competition has led to numerous agreements and groupings of producers into large companies that acquire monopolies; in France, one group has become the sole producer.

Smaller processors are highly responsive to innovation, fashion and changing market needs. They are also becoming more demanding when it comes to the raw materials and semi-finished products supplied to them by producers. Quality is one of the fundamental assets of industrialized countries, which are obliged to comply with ever more stringent standards.
