Elastic; elastic

Case of reversible behavior in terms of both energy and deformation (geometric). For a given temperature, the stress developed depends only on the deformation of the material. If the relationship between stress and strain is linear, we speak of linear elasticity, characterized by Young's modulus.

Hyperelasticity

Non-linear elastic behavior leading to very large deformations. This is classic elastomer behavior.

Anelasticity

Any irreversible behavior without presuming their exact nature.

Viscoelastic; viscoelastic

Behavior is energetically irreversible but geometrically reversible. The consequence is that the stress developed is no longer controlled solely by the current deformation, but by the deformation...
