6. Regulations

Like all chemical products, PVC stabilizers are subject to regulations designed to limit the risks associated with their use.

Their impact is assessed in three main ways

  • acute toxicity: measurement of immediate effects in the event of contact (burning, itching, etc.);

  • long-term toxicity: measurement of effects related to repeated exposure, with particular attention paid to 3 main impacts: cancerogenicity, mutagenicity and reprotoxicity (CMR);

  • environmental toxicity.

Regulations often differ from one country to another, making certain situations sometimes difficult in Europe, but also for commercial exports to the USA and Asia. Generally speaking, chemical products cannot be moved without a Safety Data Sheet (SDS),...
