6. Recycled rubber for cutting thermoplastic polymers

One possible application for recycled rubber in powder or regenerated form is to be incorporated into semi-crystalline thermoplastic polymers to improve their properties, in particular their impact resistance (impact plastics), or even to produce thermoplastic elastomers which may or may not be vulcanized.

Studies have been carried out to blend recycled rubber (EPDM or rubber from tires) with various thermoplastic polymers, in particular polyethylene and polypropylene. We have already mentioned (§ 3.2.3
