1. Flat film extrusion

1.1 Process overview

In the flat film extrusion or cast-film process [AM3707] , the molten polymer is extruded through a flat die, stretched over a short distance X in air, in this case of the order of 10 cm, and cooled by contact with a temperature-controlled roller or chill-roll (Figure 1 ).
