4. Thermoforming machines

There's a huge variety of thermoforming machines, to match the diversity of products and applications. The general characteristics, however, are the same.

4.1 General description

The installations comprise a heating station, a forming station, sometimes at the same location when the heating elements are mobile, a cutting station and, for "continuous" installations, a stacking station.

For optimum operation, each stage or station must be optimally adjusted.

The growing use of semi-crystalline materials in thermoforming, such as PP, has spurred manufacturers to make technical advances. Modern machines are highly reliable and can process a wide range of products.
