4. Vents

4.1 Positions

Air contained in the cavity, when not evacuated and compressed, causes burns to molded parts or other defects such as incomplete filling, blowholes, bubbles or visible, brittle welds (see [ AM 3681 ]). To allow the air present in the cavity to escape, special devices called vents are built into the cavity.
