1. Various tubes and production processes

Pipe and tube manufacture can be described in four main stages:

• the dosage of the various elements in the raw material;

• raw material plasticization and mixing;

• the conformation of this material to obtain a tube or pipe;

• calibration and cooling of the tube or pipe;

• coil storage for small diameters, otherwise fixed-length cutting.

Tubes or pipes can be divided into five main families:

• the first concerns water supply pipes (initial application) and gas pipes for urban networks;

• next, distribution pipes, as their name suggests, distribute water or gas to homes;
