1. High-tech applications

TPE and TPV are specialty products representing approximately 1% of all plastics. As a result, prices are relatively high. From a technical point of view, their properties differ from those of cross-linkable rubbers on the one hand, and plastics on the other. Experience has shown that, in order to successfully replace existing parts or conquer new markets, it is necessary to completely rethink problems and seek new overall solutions (figure 1 ) that exploit the advantages of TPEs and minimize their limitations.
