1.1 Cancer
Cancer results from damage to a tissue stem cell, which continues to divide without need and at an accelerated rate. The affected tissue increases in volume and disrupts the functioning of the affected organ.
These cells very quickly acquire other abilities, such as the ability to protect themselves against immune cells, but also the capacity to manufacture neo-vessels that allow the tumor to receive blood and enter the circulation. These cells become increasingly resistant to various therapeutic treatments, and continue to reproduce (metastasize).
