3. Characteristic selection to measure equipment criticality

3.1 Preamble

From a functional analysis tree, it is possible to define the characteristic measuring criticality at the level most appropriate for its user. For company managers, it is important to define at the first level the characteristics that are useful for defining dashboards that give them an overall view of their equipment's operating problems. For maintenance and operating personnel, on the other hand, it is advisable to define characteristics close to the behavior of the components associated with the last level. In practice, performance indicators are chosen to represent the characteristics that measure criticality. These performance indicators are developed in three stages
