4. Determine quantities stored or consumed

Review the ICPE nomenclature to check the size required for classification:

  • for most ICPE nomenclature headings, the maximum tonnage allowed in the facility is used;

  • for others (e.g. 1434 and 1435), flows in m3 : H or m3/year are required for classification.

Gather data in the field, remembering that ICPE classification is based on the maximum technical capacity of installations (volume of tanks, storage facilities, pump flow rates, etc.) and not on actual recorded averages.
