2. Risks associated with laser sources
Laser hazards are not limited to the laser's main radiation source (direct interaction). Additional risks associated with maintenance, adjustment and use (electrical, chemical, etc.) must be taken into account. We must not forget the risks arising from beam interaction with targets (direct interaction generating an indirect hazard). These interactions can trigger fires, emit toxic products, generate other wavelengths, generate X-rays, for example when plasma is created... Accidents can affect both people and structures.
