2. New IEC 61511 requirements

2.1 Main developments

The new version of the standard introduces both formal and substantive changes. Firstly, in terms of form, the volumes of parts 1, 2 and 3 of the standard have been modified:

• Part 1 is slightly shorter (≈ 80 pages instead of 84);

• Part 2 is almost doubled (≈ 203 pages vs. 71);

• part 3 is more developed (≈ 102 pages vs. 53).

As a reminder, only part 1 is "compulsory"; parts 2 and 3 are informative.
