ECB

The former European Chemicals Bureau, which was responsible under the DSD Directive for coordinating the harmonization of chemical classifications. This role was taken over by ECHA and its Risk Assessment Committee with the implementation of the CLP Regulation.

Manufacturing

The production or extraction of substances in their natural state.

Manufacturer

A natural or legal person established in the Community who manufactures a substance there.

Supplier of a substance or mixture

A downstream user or distributor to whom a substance or mixture is supplied.

Import

Physical entry into the customs territory of the Community.
