5.1 Industrial specifications

In a pump and pump station project, the choice of (NPSH) disp at the pump inlet determines the overall economy of the station and/or pump. The (NPSH) disp is linked to the installation, not the pump.

When selecting a pump, it is necessary to define the following simplified technical specifications:

  • the pump's operating flow area ;

  • pump unit architecture (vertical/horizontal, suction, load, etc.);

  • expected duration of use with frequency of use in each zone ;

  • the nature of the fluid being pumped...
