2. Injection device

2.1 General

Injection devices, whose construction depends on both the pressure level required and the way it is installed on the engine, can be characterized by :

  • how to feed and control the opening of the injector;

  • the type of injector nozzle used to distribute the fuel ;

  • the technique used to dose the fuel for each injection;

  • the design of the injection pump ;

  • the location of the injection device and its connections.

It is with these criteria in mind that we will compare the various solutions considered in practice.
