1. Definition of acyclism

The acyclism of an internal combustion engine is characterised by time variations in movement, speed or angular acceleration of its crankshaft , due to the forces being applied to piston-connecting rod-crank systems.

  • Three characteristics

    Depending on the circumstances, acyclism is quantified according to one of these three characteristics.

  • Variations in angular positions

    Which may make it possible to estimate the deformations and constraints imposed on a part stressed by the acyclisms of the crankshaft.
