4. Secondary circuits
The architecture of space turbomachinery is completed by the design of the secondary circuits, defined as the internal fluid network that performs the machine's internal conditioning. The adjective "secondary" should not be misinterpreted, as the design of the latter is essential for the machine's proper operation, robustness and efficiency (hence its strong impact on the "main" performance function).
4.1 Cooling circuits
To establish and control the internal thermal map, the cooling circuit must be right-sized: any element that is a source of heat dissipation is liable to thermal divergence if it is not properly cooled.
