1. Rotor dynamics

Rotor dynamics is a component of turbomachinery technology that has been undergoing rapid and continuous development for over forty years. About ten years ago, it entered a new phase, with the introduction of the forces exerted by the fluid on the rotor.

Because of the high density of the fluid they transport, pumps are the most affected by this influence of all turbomachinery, and a rotor dynamics calculation that neglects fluid-rotor interaction could never adequately represent the behavior of a pump.
